Abi Clarke

In the past, i.e. in the early 2020s. In the olden days, comedians may have expected to perform across the UK for many years before being invited onto a TV panel and selling an arena tour. This isn't the case right now. One art form that can still be performed live is comedy, however there won't soon be any arena tour. One Bristol comedian, however, has found a huge worldwide audience during lockdown through social media. Abi Clarke never set out to become an internet celebrity. Abi, 24 lives in Henbury. She started making online videos "to create a community of like-minded people who could like my stand-up comedy." "I performed a variety of gigs throughout the region of Devon to guys older than 50 who were not so keen on my Love Island, Sims and Twilight references, so I decided to go online in the hope to meet other young women who really related to me." Abi has since appeared at Lakota Gardens since locks have eased but continues to post her videos to Instagram, Twitter and Tik Tok (where she recently reached the 500,000 mark) Finding ideas from sources as diverse as her job at a café, a conversation with a stranger or even the girl group chat, writing every idea down on her phone.
