Susan Sarandon Bio

It was the 1968 Democratic Convention, and there was a casting call for a film that had many roles for young people who interrupted it. Joe (1970), was chosen by Joe (1970) and Joe (1970), two recently graduated Catholic University students. Chris Sarandon was not selected in spite of having prior studies in acting. His wife Susan was offered the role as Susan Compton. She plays the daughter of Bill Compton (Dennis Patrick). Dad Bill, Susan's drug dealer partner, is killed in the film. Joe (Peter Boyle) is a bigot, who works on an assembly line, comes across Joe (Sarandon). Janet, who becomes involved with Dr. Frank n Furter, plays the role of Janet in The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). Sarandon stood up for Annie in Bull Durham (1988) more than 15 year following her first appearance in the film. She was able to fly on her own from Rome and Italy to Los Angeles. She said "It was such a great script... it did away with many myths and challenged the definition of what success is". "I spent some time there with Kevin Costner, sex some males in the studio and then got back on the plane. Her relationship with Bull Durham (1988)) acting partner, Tim Robbins, had produced two sons by 1992 and put Sarandon in the awkward position of leaving her domestic paradise and taking on roles that truly challenged her. This was the result of four Academy Award nominations in 1990s as well as the award for best actress for Dead Man Walking (1995). Her first Academy Award nomination was for Louis Malle's Atlantic City (1980).
